Den Chiefs Handbook

BE

Job Description:
The den chief is an older, experienced Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, or Venturer who has been a Boy Scout (preferably a former Cub Scout; ideally at least First Class rank but not required), who is selected by the senior patrol leader and Scoutmaster, Varsity Scout Coach, or Venturing Advisor at the request of the Cubmaster.  The den chief is approved by the Cubmaster and pack committee for recommendation to the den leader. The den chief is registered as a youth member of a troop, team, or crew.

If you are a Scout who is interested in becoming a den chief, you first should talk to your Scoutmaster, Varsity Scout Coach or Venturing Advisor.  If neither they or you know of a pack who needs a den chief and you live in Fayette County, Georgia, your adult leaders should contact the Sepohayetv District Staff for assistance.
