Troop Volunteers

Troop 175 is looking for help!

Our Troop is always open to receiving new volunteers to sustain all of our high quality programs. Scouting has a long history of recruiting and retaining volunteers because they know they are making a difference in the lives of young people.  Please consider filling out at least the Troop Resource Survey and returning to the next Troop Meeting or to the Troop Committee.

Why should you help us?

We need adults to assist on the Troop Committee, as an Assistant Scoutmaster, bus driver, fund raiser, webmaster, board of review panel members, a family mentor, a special program resource or merit badge counselor. You probably have a talent or interest that we could use today. Please consider the following:

Why People Volunteer

  • They have or have had children in Scouting.
  • They believe in Scouting's values and principles.
  • Their parents were active in Scouting.
  • They were Scouts when young...and attained higher ranks.
  • They attended Scout camps as boys.
  • They hold volunteer positions in other organizations.
  • They are interested in social and business contacts.
  • They yield to peer pressure or job pressure.
  • They receive personal recognition.
  • They want to help other people.
  • They want to fulfill a business or community obligation.

Why They Stay

  • They understand that Scouting is a family program and they want to be present when their son achieves something wonderful or has a life changing experience.
  • They appreciate Scouting's role in their child's education.
  • They were given proper orientation.
  • They had adequate training.
  • They enjoy the opportunity for community service.
  • They enjoy the social contacts with other adults that Scouting offers.
  • They enjoy fellowship with other Scouters.
  • They find out the Rocking Chair Patrol has the best camp food ever.
  • They received recognition for their service and training.

                                                    Thank you in advance.
